Recently, I had the honour of being received by His Excellency, Ambassador Kalilou TRAORE, Ambassador of Côte D'Ivoire to Nigeria and ECOWAS, at his official residence in Asokoro, Abuja.
Our conversation was both insightful and encouraging, as we explored the peacebuilding challenges facing the ECOWAS sub-region and the broader African continent. I shared with His Excellency the vision and ongoing initiatives of the Society for Peace Studies and Practice (SPSP), highlighting our commitment to fostering sustainable peace through collaboration, scholarship, and strategic engagement.
Together, we reflected on opportunities for synergy between SPSP and diplomatic missions, particularly in supporting platforms that promote dialogue, research-based policy solutions, and multi-sectoral engagement on issues of peace and security.
I am confident that this meeting marks the beginning of a fruitful partnership aimed at strengthening regional peace efforts, and I look forward to continued engagement with Ambassador Traore and the government of Côte D'Ivoire in the months ahead.
