The President of the Society for Peace Studies and Practice (SPSP), Prof. Benjamin Adeniran Aluko, fspsp, alongside the Fellows and entire membership of the Society, has extended warm congratulations to Dr. Shadrach Teryila Ukuma on his appointment as the Director General, Bureau for Arts, Culture and Tourism, Benue State, by the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Alia.
In a congratulatory message signed by the Secretary General of the Society, Dr. John Tor Tsuwa, fspsp, the Society described Dr. Ukuma as a consummate theatre artist and scholar whose contributions to theatre and peacebuilding have earned him widespread admiration and recognition.
According to the statement, the positive reactions trailing his appointment across Benue State are a reflection of his longstanding dedication to cultural development, scholarship, and the use of theatre as a tool for peacebuilding and social transformation.
The Society further noted with pride that Dr. Ukuma previously served as Assistant Secretary General of SPSP and expressed confidence in his ability to excel in his new role while strengthening institutional collaboration between the Society and the Bureau for Arts, Culture and Tourism.
SPSP also expressed optimism that Dr. Ukuma would promote initiatives that leverage arts and theatre for peacebuilding, and work closely with the Benue State Chapter of the Society in supporting programmes and activities that advance the objectives of SPSP.
The Society wished him a fruitful relationship with all stakeholders in the discharge of his duties and prayed for a successful and impactful tenure.
