The President, Society For Peace Studies and Practice,(SPSP) Mr. Nathaniel Msen Awuapila, fspsp on behalf of the SPSP, NWC, CWC, BOT, the BoF and Esteemed members of the SPSP, announce the death of a Fine Officer, Distinguished academic and Fellow of the SPSP, General Oladeinde Jones Arogbofa (Rtd) on Saturday, 10th February, 2024 in an abuja hospital, after a brief illness.
Gen(Rtd) Oladeinde Jones Arogbofa, PhD, fspsp, served in the Nigerian Army and retired as a Brigadier General.
He also served as Chief of Staff to Former President Goodluck Jonathan from the 10th February to 29th May 2015.
Born,November, 10th, 1952, in Oka-Akoko,Ondo State,Gen. Arogbofa died today at the age of 72.
He studied very widely, including at the University of Ibadan, where he obtained his PhD. in Peace and Conflict Studies under the supervision of Prof. Isaac Olawale Albert, fspsp.
Until his death, Gen.Arogbofa was a Fellow and Chairman, SPSP's Body of Fellows (BoF) as well as Member of the Board of Trustees (BoT)of the SPSP.
Gen. Jones Arogbofa died barely 30 days after formally taking over the office allocated to the Body of Fellows at the SPSP Administrative Headquarters located at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Jabi, Abuja.
Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced later by the family.
