On Wednesday, April 2, 2025, the President of the Society for Peace Studies and Practice (SPSP), Mr. Nathaniel Msen Awuapila, fspsp, led a delegation of National Working Committee (NWC) members to the office of the Head of Service of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), Abuja, Dr. Grace Adayilo.
During the visit, Mr. Awuapila formally inducted Dr. Adayilo as a registered member of the SPSP, commending her as a trailblazing figure who, in his words, has “attained a double first” — being the first female Head of Service of the FCTA, and the first serving top civil servant in Nigeria’s Federal Capital to be inducted as a fully registered member of the SPSP.
Dr. Adayilo, a distinguished civil servant and pastor, received her certificate of registration and the official SPSP lapel pin from Mr. Awuapila. In her remarks, she praised the pioneering peacebuilding work of the SPSP both in Nigeria and across Africa. She described peace as “a spirit that spreads through pure love that is divine,” and encouraged the SPSP leadership to continue championing the Peace Agenda, which she emphasized is both essential and timely.
Mr. Awuapila expressed optimism that SPSP’s engagement with the FCTA marks the beginning of fruitful collaboration in peacebuilding initiatives between the SPSP and the Federal Capital Territory Administration.
