Society for Peace Studies and Practice (SPSP) on June 12, 2023

The President Society For Peace Studies and Practice (SPSP), Nathaniel Msen Awuapila, FSPSP, on behalf of the National Working Committee (NWC), the BOT, the Central Working Committee (CWC), the Body of Fellows, and all Members of the Society For Peace Studies and Practice felicitates with Nigerians on the anniversary of June 12, Democracy Day.

It is believed by many Nigerians that June 12, 1993, symbolized when citizens set aside their ethnicity, religion, and geographical differences and voted en mass for Chief MKO Abiola.

Thus, the SPSP advocates that citizens observe and celebrate this year's democracy day with a firm commitment to consolidating the nation's Democracy, especially with the recent triumph and victory of Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the polls.

It is worthy to note that, His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was one of the Late Chief MKO Abiola's principal aides and, activists for the restoration of Nigeria's Democracy.

SPSP, therefore, enjoins Nigerians to embrace Peace and Good Governance for the consolidation of Nigeria's Democracy.

The Society believes that for June 12 to remain meaningful to Nigerians, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, should remain focused on his administration's agenda of " Renewed Hope".

SPSP similarly calls on the President Tinubu- led government to make the task of restoring Peace and Security in all parts of Nigeria, a top priority and an essential aspect of the Renewed Hope agenda.
